The Gap

One last Photograph from Alice Springs looking towards Heavitree Gap from Anzac Hill,

Beautiful balmy night in the Alice.

The Heavitree Gap, or Ntaripe in the Arrernte language, is a water gap in the MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia. It is the southern entrance to the city of Alice Springs and in addition to the Todd River it carries the main road and rail access to the South. The Gap was named by William Mills, the Overland Telegraph line surveyor who discovered the location for Alice Springs. It was named after his former school in Heavitree, Devon.

Alice Sunset

Great to be back in  Alice Springs Central Australia.

I shot this from from Anzac Hill looking at the McDonnell Ranges.

Anzac hill is a great vantage point in the middle of the town especially at sunrise or sunset

Alice Springs is a remote town in Australia’s Northern Territory, situated some 1,500km from the nearest major city. It’s a popular gateway for exploring the Red Centre, the country’s interior desert region. Its 1872 origin as part of the Overland Telegraph Line is preserved in the vintage buildings and equipment at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve.
