Staying Conected

Staying Conected

Going on Holidays for most of us means getting away from the normal of everyday life and experiencing new and exciting things, but for some of us disconnecting from the World Wide Web and leaving our gadgets at home is just not an option. Going on holiday now means staying connected and potentially over packing with gadgets to feed that need, but don’t let your need for that social media fix spoil your holiday.

A little bit of preparation before you leave can help limit the amount of Tech you take and that impulse to check Facebook every 10 min.

  1. Let all friends and family know you’re going away a week before you leave, ask them to limit their e-mails, texts and phone calls while you are away. Promise to update them every few days via your Blog/Facebook or an e-mail of your adventures. Hopefully then they won’t clog up your in box’s with all those jokes.
  2. While you’re away try to limit the time you spend feeding that craving, I mean do you really have to Tweet /Facebook or whatever social media you’re into, every hour of the day. Put aside a half hour in your schedule to feed your craving for your social media fix. My suggestion make time at night before you go to bed and leave your days free to actually enjoy that well-earned rest,
  3. Limit the amount of gadgets you take with you by combining the way you use them for instances.

If you are taking your laptop you can play your music and watch movies, if you have a program like Skype installed you can also makes calls and send text’s allowing you to leave that iPod and phone at home. If you cannot live without that smart phone this can double as your camera/Video as most smart phones today have decent inbuilt cameras and are able to take HD quality video. One thing to remember though if you do bring that smart phone is avoiding those huge roaming costs. My suggestion is to leave your sim card at home and replace it with a travel sim, this way you will avoid that bill shock when you get home.

Cloud storage is another option to packing that portable hard drive as most cloud storage sites give you at least 5Gb for free, like ( Icloud 5GB Free)(Box 5GB Free)(Dropbox 2Gb Free)(Sugarsync 7Gb Free) enough storage for all those holiday snaps. So with a little preparation you can enjoy that holiday and stay connected as well.

See you at the Airport

  1. First off I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t
mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind
before writing. I’ve had trouble clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems
like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Any suggestions or hints? Thanks!
